Yet both girls have taken to riding the big girl bikes (with training wheels). We just started trying this again about 2-3 weeks ago. Friday of last week we had a friend join us for dinner and we went for a ride after dinner. This was the first time Essie started steerring most of the time without running into the curb. So of course that means Bryan is ready to take them to the Village Center the very next day. It is just a tad further than 0.5miles. They had ridden at most .25 miles in one trip. So off they go giving me some time to get a project done (turning my blog into a book by the way... due to arrive 7/20 and I am so excited). So I watch them leaving and thinking if they make it around the corner chances are I will get a call to pick them up at the Village Center. There was a 50% chance Essie wouldn't make it around the corner. Of course she surpassed my expectations :) Which lead to my next amazement that they made the whole trip.
