Come have FUN with the Conrads!!!

We lean on Jesus as He is our strength for everyday.
1 Peter 4:11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Queen Esther Mother/Daughter Tea Party!

We had a super fun morning of getting ready for the fun event of learing "princess proper" for dinner etiquette  to the real story of Queen Esther. I rolled their hair, did their nails and they both were given some sweet Hello Kitty jewels! It was a super fun morning!

Then we arrived and Meme was there to join in the fun! They had their picture taken, drank from real tea cups, make crowns, flower cupcakes and had jewels placed by their eyes!

Awesome cupcake!
The story of Esther was played out and Mrs. Becky taught them a song!!!

Happy Easter! He is Risen!!!

God is amazing! He (God) has done great things. The morning started off at the sunrise service where the focus was on "what did God save you for". He didn't save us for Sunday mornings. He wants us to talk to Him everyday. The girls were troupers to get ready so early and skip some fun stuff at home for later. It turns out that later was a blast with friends (new and old) and family!  What a delight to spend a special day with the Conrads, Overmans, Tilley's, Rickman's and the Otts! Martha made the day extra special.  She made the girls dresses, had crafts for the kids, sat with all the kids for lunch and was heard guiding discussion in such a fun way!  Martha you are amazing!!! I didn't get pictures of the water slide or our horse feeding/walk.  It was a super fun, yet relaxing day!

Preparation for Easter

This is how the Conrad's start off Easter. A little bit of Christmas first. Okay, so Essie fell asleep reading about the Elf. Maybe we had just a bit too much fun with it this year that we can't go 6 months without her. Christmas Eve Snow we miss you and hope you are having fun. We are getting ready to celebrate Jesus' ultimate gift to us and Him defeating death to give us eternal life!

Bryan had a work party.  I don't know if you can see, but their front yard was FILLED with eggs all over the grass.  You couldn't walk a half step without stepping on an egg.  What fun!  And the food was beyond belief fabulous!  We need to get some training in Italian/Mexican Easter traditions :)

Below is Adeline icing her first cake.  I am sad to say I had trouble handing over the spreader until I reallized what I was doing.  She did a great job!!!

After we made our cake we also started working on what I call Resurection Cookies!  This was a great way to tell THE story of Jesus and Easter in a very clear way to the girls.  You use vinegar like Jesus had just before he said his last words, salt like the tears of sorry... etc. !  Here is the link: http://womenlivingwell.org/2012/03/easter-story-cookies-wlww-link-up-party/
I plan on this being an annual tradition!!!  Though hope to get pictures next year.  It was awesome. Essie at 3 had some trouble focusing, but she got some of the meaning for sure to make it worth it. Addy at 5 was all into it and telling me more of the story than the scripture we read. She knew all about the wax and the kings ring to seal the tomb.  She was super into it!
