Come have FUN with the Conrads!!!

We lean on Jesus as He is our strength for everyday.
1 Peter 4:11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Esther is 10 weeks old today!!!

Having fun hanging out. I finished her a little blanket for her to take to daycare on the 14th. Next to work on one for adeline. She has the same one I made for her when she started in daycare (it has seen better days).
Esther is really interactive. She has a lot to say several times a day with lots of little baby sounds. She only talks when you interact with her, otherwise she is happy to kick her feet with joy. She likes being outside. She loves looking at the fan. She tolerates tummy time, and is getting stronger. She will let you know when it is time to eat. I have started her on the schedule we will try when I go back to work. I think it will work out well. We may be eating take-out/order in for a while; as I have been doing much of the meal preparation around the lunch hour. We are getting a little freezer (for the garage) to keep up with my milk supply. I don't think we will run out for a long time. This will decrease my stress level for sure when going back to work. For such a chunky baby she eats a lot less than Adeline did. I also am starting to get excited about making her first foods from scratch (another reason for the freezer, despite it being several months away). Right now ours is 33% full of milk. and it isn't ice-cream! We have got to get our priorities straight here. Adeline has been kissing Esther like crazy. Probably 10 times through out dinner tonight. It is easier to clean Essie than tell Adeline not to kiss her.
Adeline got Kudos from her teacher Ms. Neige today that she was the best behaved by far. So much better to hear than she bit someone (which - praise God has been a long time ago). We have a scheduled parent teacher meeting on Thursday AM. Adeline had her test today. I think it is similar to the FCAT... just joking. But it does let you know where her strengths are. Or more likely where we focus and that we need to work on throwing a ball for example. I'm sure we need to work on that. Her only limitations are her parents... ha ha! She really is a sponge though!
We can hardly wait to meet Mr. Luke Roy Judah.... both girls are healthy (which makes me feel better about walking into their home - no bugs dripping off of me)... now just to find the time and not intrude on their family time!!! He sure is a cutie from the pics they share.

Welcome to a perfect day in the life of a pretend stay at home mommy

"Welcome to Moe's" is exactly what Adeline said today as we were standing in line for Moe's today. The staff hadn't even said it. This is unusual and I had even mentally made a note of just how unusual it was not to hear those words. Then out they came from Addy. Apparently she missed the welcoming too. So she said it for the folks coming in and going out.
A perfect day today. Fall is here... with a high today of 84 or so. This morning was BEAUTIFUL. In weather and due to the fact I got to spend it with Adeline. The 3 girls went for a walk (with my wonderful new stroller). The air was crisp and wonderful. We had fun picking up acorns, sticks and whatever else. We saw a turtle, frogs and water fountains. It is so much fun hanging out with a 2 year old.
(preceding tangent that will give away some of what is coming: on our week of beach fun one guy said to me at a restaurant "what a lovely 6 month old baby" I chuckled and thought to myself, he is way off on that one. Now I know he wasn't the one that was off the typical scale)

Then off for a well check for Esther: can you believe she is 16lbs. She is off the height (24in) and weight growth charts for girls. She is heavier now than Adeline was at 4 months. No wonder we are cruising through diapers and wearing 6mo sized clothes. I thought it was going quicker than it did with Adeline. At any rate, we are blessed with a healthy baby girl. She is tough - she endured her immunizations. Adeline wasn't too happy about them though. She kissed Esther on the head as she was crying. She had her ears checked today.
Thank goodness for Karen at Kids Health Team allowing us to double dip. As Addy came down with double ear infections on our way out of town to the beach.

Then we had lunch with Bryan at Moe's... hence the above story. Nap time and then we were off to the Butterfly Garden. We all love it there!
Perfect day I would say: So no laundry or cleaning today. It was just how I imagine every day is for those stay at home moms. They don't ever have to do that sort of stuff either - I'm sure of it. Just fun fun and more fun. That is what I had today - my imaginary stay-at-home-mommy day!

Beach advice and memories

Suzanne blogging here - too lazy to sign in as myself.

BEACH ADVICE: take a wet wash cloth in a zip lock bag for eye emergencies, even if you don't think you need the water diapers - YOU do (or doo doo), bouncy seats are great on the beach for babies, take as many family memebers (thanks to the conrad/overmans) as possible for the most successful trips! Wagons are great too!

Adeline is adorable loving the beach. She has no real fear of the water (which creates some fear in me). I like it when she and I are on the same fear page because then I know Bryan can't take her out deep. Yesterday Bryan, Annie and Chad were out deep catching waves to body surf and Adeline kept wanting to go out deep. It was too strong and the waves too high. I could hardly hold onto her with the waves at waist deep water. Besides there was no "shark bait" as I call it. Meaning there were no other swimmers out deeper than us. It was cloudy and no pelicans another sign that allows me to go out further than my waist. I'm methodically crazy! At any rate I eventually broke my own rules and went out b/c Bill was holding Adeline up on the beach and I was REALLY wanting to go in. I think it has been 2 years since we have been to the beach.

Back to Addy... she plays in the sand, digging, tearing down your creations, finding shells only to throw them into the water, running and chasing just about anything, people watching, jumping waves, riding her bike (with bryan helping), wagon rides, sitting, and of course eating all the snacks. She loves sitting at the edge of the water letting the little waves come and go. (I have come to enjoy this as well - use to avoid it due to the sand in your suit issue... but my love of Addy got rid of that). We did have a poopy come out while at the pool. She freaked and bryan had to take care of it as I couldn't stop laughing. The sand dunes will never be the same where he rinsed her off.

She has 3-4 word groupings regularly and has started using pronouns like "my purse" and was using "your..." regularly this last week. At dinner last night she assigned everyone place, set the table, and kept each person safe by informing them each time they got roast that it was "hot". She is very aware of what is "hot" and what is spicy "picy". She is really trying to use the potty. She has been successful at least once a day this week. She loves her "potty treats".

Esther is so alert. She has been very in tune with the art work and pillows where we are staying. She has been so content going to the beach and pool no matter when it is in her schedule. She will eat or sleep just about anywhere. We have been taking her bouncy seat to the beach. She love to have her hair blowing in the breeze. Martha bought a "tent/shelter" for us to feed her in and place her for shade. The cool thing about the beach here is you can drive on it. And the past 2 times that is what we have done. Popping the back to the 4-runner has allowed for enough shade. As the winds are so strong that the shelter has turned into a rather large kite practically. We did fly a real kite and I hope the pictures turn out so I can post them.

My folks dropped by the beach place today after a week long cruise... just a little jealous though not really as Essie, Adeline and I have been at the beach all week with Martha and Annie. Chad, Bryan and Bill joined for the weekend. Go Gators.. though we had horrible beach weather we got to cheer the Gators on to victory!

long long post... hopefully years from now Adeline and Esther will be reading this and appreciate all these details. As for friends and family... it might seem a little long :) Thank you MARTHA and BILL for a wonderful week at the beach!!! Sorry Calhoun that you missed all of it. I think you would have loved it.
oh... and I got a Phil and Ted stroller from the Jacksonville craigs list... so very very exciting. Watch out paths here we come. The beach fears the stoller as well.

Living Proof Ministries

I just found Beth Moore has a BLOG!!! Oh my... I have heard that face book stalking is acceptable... I'm sure blog stalking will be too. Of course I read all of Sept today and noticed a posting by her daughter Amanda. She mentioned a really cool devotional message from the book: Devotions for a Sacred Marriage: A Year of Weekly Devotions for Couples by Gary Thomas. It spoke to me today as when you don't rely on God to meet your needs you do start relying on someone else. And poor bryan is all I can say. I guess reality check... he isn't God. Guess I'll have to let him know I was expecting him to be a little to all knowing and all powerful. He actually might be relieved to hear I am lowering the mind reading expectations :) for at least a day or two. I love you bryan!

Birthday

Wow! What a more perfect birthday to have. A great weekend so far and there is still more time left. Bryan arranged for a picnic yesterday evening for dinner. We had Leonardo's Pizza (pepperoni and olive) with wheat crust - healthy you know. Wheat garlic rolls too! Then off to Westside park. Adeline had a ton of fun. Esther was a cutie and managed to feed her dinner too with dignity in the midst of a park. Adeline had what bryan called the biggest poo of all man kind. Probably b/c he cleaned it up and it was from head to toe on a 2 yr old. So Adeline ran around the last little bit in her diaper playing on the playground (which was amazing for Adeline). Of course it was hot... but this is Florida and we are a bit use to it. Then off to Coldstone for some I-cream as Adeline says. Then home to watch the Miami and University of Florida football game and the Gators won! A great birthday celebration. Thank you Gators for the win.
I have added some links as I forgot to take my camera to the park!!!
