This is how the Conrad's start off Easter. A little bit of Christmas first. Okay, so Essie fell asleep reading about the Elf. Maybe we had just a bit too much fun with it this year that we can't go 6 months without her. Christmas Eve Snow we miss you and hope you are having fun. We are getting ready to celebrate Jesus' ultimate gift to us and Him defeating death to give us eternal life!
Bryan had a work party. I don't know if you can see, but their front yard was FILLED with eggs all over the grass. You couldn't walk a half step without stepping on an egg. What fun! And the food was beyond belief fabulous! We need to get some training in Italian/Mexican Easter traditions :)
Below is Adeline icing her first cake. I am sad to say I had trouble handing over the spreader until I reallized what I was doing. She did a great job!!!
After we made our cake we also started working on what I call Resurection Cookies! This was a great way to tell THE story of Jesus and Easter in a very clear way to the girls. You use vinegar like Jesus had just before he said his last words, salt like the tears of sorry... etc. ! Here is the link: http://womenlivingwell.org/2012/03/easter-story-cookies-wlww-link-up-party/
I plan on this being an annual tradition!!! Though hope to get pictures next year.
It was awesome. Essie at 3
had some trouble focusing, but she got some of the meaning for sure to make it
worth it. Addy at 5 was all into it and telling me more of the story
than the scripture we read. She knew all about the wax and the kings ring to seal the tomb. She was super into it!
